World Sports Summit Strengthens UAE’s Standing as a Global Sports Hub, Says Minister of Sports

DUBAI, 29 December 2025 — The World Sports Summit unfolding in Dubai is propelling the United Arab Emirates to the forefront as a vibrant global center for sport, investment, and international partnership, according to Dr Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, UAE Minister of Sports.

On the summit’s opening day at Madinat Jumeirah, Dr Al Falasi described the event as a testament to the UAE’s bold vision to weave sport into the fabric of economic progress, social advancement, and worldwide connection.

“The World Sports Summit represents a pivotal step in consolidating the UAE’s role as a global destination for sport,” the minister said, highlighting the participation of more than 1,500 sports leaders, policymakers, athletes, investors, and experts from over 80 countries.

Dr Al Falasi stressed that the summit breaks the mold of conventional sports gatherings, spotlighting sport’s growing influence in today’s world. Over two days, conversations explore how sport unites communities, boosts public health, empowers youth, and drives economic diversity, especially as digital innovation and swift technological shifts reshape society.

He noted that sport is now widely seen as a catalyst for building life skills, nurturing teamwork and leadership, and enhancing both mental and physical well-being, all of which are at the heart of the summit’s mission.

The minister remarked that Dubai’s role as summit host showcases the UAE’s talent for bringing together global leaders and sparking impactful international conversations. “These elements have made the UAE a preferred destination for athletes during training periods and off-seasons, as well as for international federations seeking reliable and innovative partners,” he said.
