Minneapolis–Saint Paul, USA — Czechia delivered a commanding statement at the 50th IIHF World Junior Championship, showcasing their depth, discipline, and offensive firepower in a convincing 7–2 victory over Denmark in Group B action at 3M Arena at Mariucci.
From the outset, the Czech side dictated the tempo, applying sustained pressure and forcing Denmark into extended defensive shifts. Their relentless approach paid dividends early, as Czechia struck within the opening minutes and never relinquished control of the contest.
Defenceman Tomáš Galvas emerged as the standout performer, anchoring the blue line while contributing decisively in attack. Galvas finished the night with one goal and two assists, driving play from the back end and earning Player of the Game honours for his all-around performance.
“We stayed patient, moved the puck well, and took advantage of our chances,” Galvas said post-game. “That’s the identity we want to play with.”
