Sheikh Hamdan says the World Sports Summit will inspire generations.

Dubai is set to host the World Sports Summit on December 29 and 30 at Madinat Jumeirah. The Dubai Sports Council is organising the event with guidance from Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Sport can drive positive change

Before the event, Sheikh Hamdan spoke about Dubai’s dedication to the positive effects of sport around the world. “Dubai welcomes guests and participants of the World Sports Summit, including global sports leaders, federation presidents, investors, decision-makers, and athletes from across disciplines,” he said.

He also said the summit’s goal is to bring people together, inspire the next generation, and build stronger international ties in sport. “Through this first-of-its-kind event in the UAE, we seek to empower communities, attract talent, and shape the future of sport worldwide,” Sheikh Hamdan said.

The summit supports the Dubai Sports Sector Strategic Plan 2033 and helps strengthen Dubai’s reputation as a top destination for international sports events and growth.


Honoring global achievements in sport

The summit will also feature the 13th Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Sports Award, the largest award of its kind. It honors the achievements of athletes, sports officials, and organizations from the UAE, the Arab world, and other countries.

Summit events and activities

Guests are already arriving for the summit, including FIFA President Gianni Infantino and famous athletes from different sports. The Organising Committee has planned entertainment, sports, and family activities such as padel competitions, safari tours, and trips to Dubai’s top resorts.

On December 28, a pre-summit program gives attendees a chance to network and discover Dubai’s sports and tourism facilities before the main sessions start.

Key speakers and guests

On the first day, the summit will have speeches and panel discussions. Khalfan Juma Belhoul, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, will give a keynote, and FIFA President Gianni Infantino will present a session called ‘The Next 90 Minutes’.
