Slovenia’s Domen Prevc delivered an exceptional ski jumping performance to secure a solid win at the Four Hills Tournament 2025/26 opener in Oberstdorf, Germany, on Monday, 29 December.
The 26-year-old World Cup tour leader followed up his successful qualification by leading both rounds of the competition. He finished with a total of 316.7 points, finishing 17.5 points ahead of current title holder Daniel Tschofenig in second, and Felix Hoffmann in third, who was 19.4 points behind.
Timi Zajc, who was initially tied for second with Tschofenig, was later disqualified for wearing an unsuitable suit.
Prevc, widely expected to perform well given his recent form, set the pace with a first round jump of 141.5 meters, earning 162.2 points. He followed that with a 140.0-meter effort in the second round, bringing in 154.4 points.
With this victory, Prevc becomes the first Slovenian ever to win at the Oberstdorf stop.
“Today I really felt amazing, and I finally managed to get through the curse of Slovenians winning here,” Prevc told broadcasters in an interview after the event. “I’m super happy that we managed to do two really good jumps.”
Next, Prevc will head to Garmisch-Partenkirchen for the second stop of this four-stage event. He arrives with a comfortable lead in points and has increased his advantage at the top of the World Cup standings.
Qualification will continue on Wednesday, 31 December.
